Feature Changes as of October 17, 2025

Aeris IoT Watchtower™ Enforcement Feature Expansion, Release 25.7

The Watchtower Enforcement features have been expanded and have a new home! Previously, the Awareness features were moved to a new web page. Now the Enforcement features are also moved to the same page. When you click Security from the AerPort menu, you are redirected to the new web page automatically. Click Return to AerPort to gain access to all other AerPort features.

Purpose

The new web page is part of the New Services portal. This portal contains a user interface that is shared with other Aeris customers and partners. This portal has its own set of release notes and online documentation, including the detailed Watchtower release notes. All updates to the Watchtower software, release notes, and documentation will be provided within this portal going forward.

Watchtower Release Notes Available October 21, 2025

The Watchtower release notes found in the New Services portal online documentation provide a detailed mapping of features from the AerPort version of the Awareness and Enforcement features to the new version of these features.

Additionally, the release notes provide several key points about new features available in the new services portal, including the Watchtower Awareness API.

Here's how to access the Watchtower release notes.

  1. In AerPort, select the Security menu item.
The new web page/portal appears with the heading IoT Watchtower > Dashboard.
  2. Next to the heading Overview of Events and Statistics, click the question mark icon.
A help popup window appears with the heading About the IoT Watchtower dashboard.
  3. In the help popup window, scroll down to the bottom.
  4. Click on the link Visit our Watchtower online help to learn more.
  5. If you are prompted for login credentials, click Continue with AerPort SSO.
There is no need to enter an email address or password.
  6. The online documentation opens in a new tab. In the left menu, click Watchtower release notes.

Security Policy Migration

AerPort customers with activated security policies in Aeris IoT Watchtower will see their security policies migrated and transformed into Enforcement Rules. In the new services portal, security policies consist of enforcement rules, applications, and protection policies.

In AerPort, security policies were associated with groups of devices, wherein the group was designated by its Service Profile. This was the only method to designate which group of devices to apply the policy to. In the new portal, you can still associate a security policy with devices defined by service plan (same thing as service profile), but you have other methods to designate a group of devices.

Refer to the Watchtower release notes for additional details.

Limitations

In the 25.7 release, Enforcement functionality for the following product is still in development:

  • Fusion NA

Check the Watchtower release notes in the New Services portal for announcements regarding this product in the future.
